Customer reviews and comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Cookies
Our shop uses woocommerce_cart_hash and woocommerce_items_in_cart to remember changes to your basket. These cookies last for the browser session. The wp_woocommerce_session_ cookie identifies your basket information in our website database and normally lasts for two days.
We use Google reCAPTCHA through our PayPal Payments plugin to help protect guest checkout against automated abuse and fraudulent payment attempts. This service assesses browser and device information and interactions with the website, and uses the _GRECAPTCHA cookie for risk analysis. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Customer enquiries and orders
When you contact us, request a quote or place an order, we collect the information needed to respond and provide our services. This may include your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery addresses, order details, correspondence and personalisation instructions.
If you provide names, photographs or other personal information about someone else for a personalised product or gift delivery, we use that information to fulfil your request. Please only provide information you are entitled to share.
We use information needed to prepare a requested quote and fulfil your order on the basis of taking steps towards, or performing, our contract with you. We keep accounting and tax information to meet our legal obligations. We also use relevant records where necessary for our legitimate interests in providing customer support, preventing fraud and handling complaints or legal claims.
We need the details required to personalise, process and deliver your order. Without them, we may be unable to fulfil it.
Payments, delivery and service providers
Our online shop uses WooCommerce. Payments are handled through the payment provider you choose at checkout, including WooPayments and PayPal. Relevant payment, transaction, billing and technical information is processed to complete your payment, prevent fraud and handle refunds or payment disputes.
We share the details needed to deliver your order with Royal Mail or the delivery company used for your parcel. These may include the recipient’s name, delivery address and contact details, together with customs information where required for overseas deliveries.
Our website is hosted by Krystal Hosting Limited. Hosting, website maintenance, security and backup providers may process personal information as necessary to operate and protect the website.
We may also share relevant information with our accountant, professional advisers, or public authorities where necessary to meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Keeping order records and personalised artwork
We keep order and payment records for as long as necessary to meet accounting and tax requirements, provide customer support and handle complaints or legal claims. We assess retention according to the purpose of each record and any applicable legal requirements.
We manually review saved customer photographs and personalised design files two years after the customer’s last order. We delete files that are no longer needed. Where artwork remains necessary for repeat orders, we record the reason for keeping it and set a further review date.
You can contact us at info@craftymammies.co.uk to request deletion of your personal information. We consider each request alongside any legal requirements or other valid reasons for retaining particular records.
Your privacy rights and complaints
Your privacy rights apply whether or not you have an account or have left a comment. Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of its use, or a portable copy of information you have provided.
Your right to object: You can object to our use of your personal information where we rely on legitimate interests. You also have the right to object to direct marketing at any time.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier use. To exercise your rights or raise a privacy concern, email info@craftymammies.co.uk. We may need information to verify your identity before handling your request.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.
Managing your cookie choice
We use a cookie called cm_cookie_consent to remember the choice you make in our cookie banner. It stores either “all” or “essential” and lasts for up to one year, unless you clear it sooner through your browser.
You can reopen the banner using the Cookie settings button at the bottom of the website and change your choice. Choosing Essential Only prevents optional content connected to this consent control from loading after the page reloads.
You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies needed for the basket, checkout or account functions may affect how those features work. Changing your choice does not automatically delete cookies previously placed by other providers.
Website visitor statistics
We use Independent Analytics to understand how visitors use our website and which pages are useful. It records information such as pages visited, referring websites, browser and device type, and approximate location.
Independent Analytics does not use cookies. It processes your IP address and browser information to generate a hashed visitor identifier. Its analytics records are stored in our website database. We have configured the identifier’s salt to refresh daily, limiting recognition of returning visitors across days.
We use these statistics for our legitimate interests in understanding website usage and improving our services. Independent Analytics is configured to automatically delete analytics records older than two years.
